Clashes between Albanian opposition supporters and police officers took place during a demonstration outside his office Eddie Rama. The tens of thousands of citizens who gathered blame its president Albania for corruption and the spread of poverty, which have increased the number of people leaving the country for a better future abroad.

The anti-government demonstration in the Albanian capital was seen by political analysts as an attempt by Berisha to show power ahead of the self-governing elections to be held in May 2023.
Sali Berisha, who has served as president and prime minister of Albania, has been banned from entering the US for corruption. He has denied what has been attributed to him.
