This year the traditional Christmas card of the royals of Monaco it’s a beautiful family portrait that the American magazine People revealed exclusively in preview. In the 2022 birthday card, the prince Albert II and his wife Charlene Wittstock I am reunited with 8 year old children Jacques and Gabriellaat Palazzo Grimaldi, in front of a glittering Christmas tree. The text accompanying the portrait, taken by royal photographer Eric Mathon, reads in three languages (English, French and Monegasque): «My family joins me in wishing you peace and joy for Christmas and a happy new year 2023» .
Last Christmas we saw a similar image: Charlène and Alberto gathered next to the Christmas tree with their children. All dressed up, just like in the 2021 Christmas card. Last year, however, it was a drawing, not the classic ritual photo. Published by Charlène, still being treated in Switzerland after the respiratory tract infection that had blocked her in South Africa for months forcing her to undergo three surgeries, on her Instagram profile.
The dream that Charlène told in Christmas 2021 with a drawing has now come true. On the other hand, since she returned to Monaco, the princess has repeatedly said that it was her family that gave her the strength to overcome the disease. Actually Prince Albert, just a few weeks ago, in an interview with Nice-Matin he admitted that his wife has not yet fully recovered: «A sometimes she is still tired. She still needs time to fully recover her energies and make further commitments. But she will make it, I’m sure of it.’ And in fact the princess, little by little, is regaining possession of her life. And, in spite of her rumors that for months now every two or three of her have been giving her on the verge of divorce from Albertothis Christmas 2022 she is once again the protagonist, with husband and children, of a Christmas card that tells of a united and happy family.
