Alberto Landgraf, from the award-winning Oteque, opens a restaurant in London

He won’t stop, that’s a fact.

Alberto Landgraf, name in front of oteque restaurant in Rio de Janeiro who this year was the only Brazilian beside from A Casa do Porco in the highly contested “50 Best” ranking, he had everything to be calm and reaping the laurels of such success in Brazilian lands.

But this does not suit the personality of the chef. And the great news is that at the end of November he takes his gastronomy, signature and even part of his team to a challenge: the bossa his new restaurant, this time in the capital of England.

Alberto makes it very clear: don’t expect anything stereotyped. There will be no samba, pagode and feijoada with crackling. The environment will not have the Brazilian flag or photos of Sapucaí or the Marvelous City.

Elegant, with a playlist hand-picked by the chef himself, as is Oteque, Bossa will have a barbecue in the kitchen and will be an à la carte version of the famous carioca address – in addition to being much bigger, since in Rio, they are served 650 customers per month, on average, against a forecast of 4,500 monthly customers there.

Some of Landgraf’s top hits – such as the sardines with foie gras on toasted brioche and the raw Brazil nut ice cream, which does not contain milk – will be on Bossa’s menu.

Tucupi, the iconic sauce from the Amazon based on wild manioc and herbs, will be another protagonist, emulsified with butter and accompanied by grilled fish and toasted buckwheat.

That Londoners know how to appreciate and get to know Alberto Landgraf’s modern, inventive and perfectionist Brazilian food.
