Alchemy Raises $ 250 Million in Another Round of Funding

Blockchain infrastructure company Alchemy has completed its Series C funding round with a $ 250 million raise. The company’s capitalization reaches $ 3.5 billion.

The funding round was attended by venture capital firms a16z, Lightspeed and Redpoint, Coatue, Addition, DFJ and Pantera. Alchemy plans to use the raised funds to further develop the ecosystem and expand access to its tools for Web 3.0 developers around the world.

Alchemy co-founder and CTO Joe Lau believes blockchain and Web 3.0 are just beginning their journey to the mainstream. The company’s CEO, Nikil Viswanathan, said:

“We are delighted to continue to invest in making blockchain available to developers around the world. We believe that empowering developers is the key to bringing blockchain magic to the world. ”

The company, which launched just over a year ago, has reported a 15-fold increase in revenue in the past six months. A16z General Partner Ali Yahya said this is a key investment in Web 3.0 infrastructure.

“We live in a unique time when Web 3.0 is evolving and is no longer just an infrastructure. With the help of companies like Alchemy, it can support applications for a mainstream audience, ”he said.

As a reminder, according to Dove Metrics, the total volume of venture funding to cryptocurrency companies exceeded $ 8.2 billion in the third quarter of this year.
