After meeting with the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, the leader of the Brazilian delegation, Geraldo Alckmin ended his participation in COP29, in Azerbaijan. He, who arrived last Monday (11), boarded a flight, accompanied by his advisors and the Governor of Espírito Santos, Renato Casagrande (PSB), back to Brasília-DF.
When asked, upon leaving the hotel, about his possible interest in presiding over COP30 next year, he said he would not be chosen. “I’m not on the list. And President Lula will choose very well.”
The decision on who will preside over the climate summit, in Belém, Pará, next year, should be made until 2025.
