Alec Baldwin: The gun he was given had real bullets

The weapon given to him had real slaughter Alec Baldwin during the filming of “Rust”, according to the details of the police investigation into the fatal incident.

On Thursday, the American actor shot and killed, apparently by mistake, the 42-year-old director of photography Halina Hutchins and injured Joel Souza, director of the western film that was being shot in the State of New Mexico. Souza was later discharged from the hospital where he was treated.

The bullet hit Hutchins in the chest and Souza, who was sitting behind her, in the shoulder., according to the affidavit written testimony of the county sheriff’s office filed in the Santa Fe District Court.

The assistant director who gave Baldwin the gun did not know it contained real bullets, said the affidavit of Santa Fe sheriff’s detective Joel Cano.

Ο Baldwin he said devastated from the death of the director of photography. “I have no words to express my shock and sorrow for the tragic accident where Halina Hutchins was killed,” the 63-year-old star wrote on Twitter. “I am fully cooperating with the police investigation into how this tragedy may have happened and I am in contact with her (Hutchins) husband to offer support to him and his family,” he added.

Production on the film stopped immediately.

The sheriff’s office said no charges had been filed and the investigation remained open. Baldwin voluntarily testified to police about the incident, the sheriff’s office added.
