It takes a new turn the case of Halina Hutchins who was killed when the Alec Baldwin shot with a gun containing real bullets during the filming of Rust.
In complaint filed against the actor and the producers of the film by the screenwriter of “Rust”, Maimi Mitchell, claims that the script did not envisage a shot by Baldwin.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, through Gloria Olred’s lawyer, Mitchell claims that she was injured by the fire and complains of violence, intentional infliction of mental anguish and intentional infliction of harm.
The lawsuit alleges that the script provided three close-up shots of the scene – one from Baldwin’s gaze, another into a bloodstain and a third into the actor’s body “as he put his hand in the holster and pulled out his gun. . There was no mention in the script for weapon use which was fired by the accused or by any other person “states the lawsuit.
The lawsuit also states that, contrary to what is common in security protocols, in no case was he informed that the gun would be unlocked, that there was limited plexiglass in the church area and that the crew members were not informed to look at the monitors outside the church so as not to be close to the action.
Mitchell accuses Baldwin of not checking if the gun was loaded and after the shooting, she says she heard a loud noise in her ears and feared for her life.
“Alec Baldwin should have assumed that the gun in question was full outside and checked it. “He did not have the right to rely on an alleged statement by the assistant director that the weapon was empty and could not be hidden behind the assistant director to justify the fact that he did not check the weapon himself,” the text of the lawsuit reads.
It is reminded that A lawsuit against Alec Baldwin has also been filed by the chief electrician in the set of the movie Rust, Serge Svetnoi, a friend of Hutchins, who accuses them of negligence that resulted in “serious emotional discomfort”. According to him, the ball is about to hit him too.
