President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko was indignant that officials could not offer him a cryptocurrency regulation system and allow capital leakage abroad.
Belarus cannot afford to lag and should try to lead in conditions of high competition in the digital market, said Lukashenko.
“The task of the state is to create transparent rules of the game and effective mechanisms for controlling cryptocurrencies. This is a new direction for the country. In 2023, I gave an order to comprehensive regulation of digital assets and cryptocurrencies, but I still have no agreed documents, ”he was indignant.
He demanded that his subordinates explain why violations were still not eliminated during the registration of financial transactions, identified by the results of an unscheduled audit.
“The funds of Belarusian investors withdrawn abroad are not returned in half the cases. So it will not work! ” – said Lukashenko.
He ordered officials to put his proposals on the table on ways to attract foreign investors and tell him what would be done to turn the country into a world cryptocenter.
Earlier, Lukashenko said that in Belarus there are more people who propose to develop cryptocurrency mining, and invited the government to speed up the modernization of energy networks.
