At 54 years old, the musician Alexandre Lima died this Thursday (28), in Vitória, Espírito Santo, after being more than ten years in a coma as a result of an aortic aneurysm suffered in 2013, according to TV Gazeta, a Globo affiliate.
The information was confirmed by Amaro Lima , the singer's brother, in an Instagram post. To date, the cause of death has not been disclosed.
“My brother, God called you but the boat of love that you made continues to sail. One day, we will meet again to exchange the usual. Thank you for everything. Go in peace. I love you,” he wrote.

Alexandre became known for being one of the voices of the group “Manimal” and creator of the Rockcongo Movement, that is, a rhythm from Espírito Santo present in the band’s songs. The group also focused on other musical rhythms such as samba, electronic music and reggae.
In 2013, Lima served as municipal secretary of culture in Vitória. On social media, the organization regretted what happened.
“In this moment of pain, we express our most sincere sympathies to Alexandre Lima’s family and friends, and we sympathize with all those who were touched by his art and presence. May his music and his memory remain alive in our hearts,” they wrote.
