The 44-year-old oppositionist states that he received in his cell the visit of an inspector of the powerful Commission of Inquiry, which is responsible for the main criminal investigations.

“He told me that in our beloved Russia, three new serious cases are being investigated. And 21 researchers are working on them at the highest level. “And in each of them, I am the criminal”, wrote Navalny, as broadcast by AMPE.

“My strong criminal organization is growing. “I am committing more and more crimes,” he joked, adding that he is “a genius” of the underworld.

Alexei Navalny was jailed in January on his return to Russia following his poisoning blamed by the Kremlin. He has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for a fraud case reported by the opposition.

He has since served his sentence in a prison in the Vladimir region, about 100km from Moscow, where he has been on a hunger strike since April to call off his detention.

Following his arrest, which was followed by demonstrations that were suppressed by police, Russian authorities stepped up pressure on the anti-corruption opposition organization.

The Russian judiciary is currently considering a request to label the Anti-Corruption Fund (FBK) and Navalny regional offices as “extremist”, which would expose their associates to heavy fines.

As the September parliamentary elections approach, the Russian parliament is also set to adopt a second reading today. a law prohibiting persons involved in “extremist” organizations from participating in this vote.

Alexei Navalny’s group is denouncing a maneuver aimed at preventing his supporters from running in the election, while the popularity of Vladimir Putin’s party is in recession due to economic stagnation.
