Italian automaker Alfa Romeo is developing an all-electric version of its Giulia four-door sedan. In an interview with Auto Express, Jean-Philippe Imparato, CEO of the company, said that Alfa Romeo will debut an electric car sometime in 2024. In addition, he announced that the car will be built on the STLA Large platform, created by parent company Stellantis.

The conglomerate announced the platform this summer. Then it was announced that it would allow electric vehicles to accelerate to 100 km / h in just two seconds and travel up to 800 km without recharging. Dodge, another Stellantis-sponsored automaker, will use the platform in an all-electric muscle car due to be unveiled in 2024. Alfa Romeo may also offer a Giulia Quadrifoglio variant, but Imparato said that would depend on whether he can get the kind of performance that the name associates with.
The release of Guilia is just the beginning.
“The first all-electric car will appear in 2024, the big launch is expected in 2025, 2026, and in 2027 we will see that Alfa Romeo only produces fully battery electric vehicles. This is confirmed and funded, ”said Imparato.
