Algeria: a house inspired by the Eiffel Tower is controversial

is a unique building in Algeria. As reported International mail, Omar Ould Fella, a 50-year-old Algerian entrepreneur, obviously a fan of the Eiffel Tower, decided to build a house inspired by the architecture of the famous Parisian monument, in the city of Tizi Ouzou, in the heart of the mountainous landscape of Kabylia. After several months of work, his initiative was widely criticized on social networks.

With a height of 28 meters, composed of eight floors and an area of 88 m² in the heart of a 600 m² site, its “Eiffel Tower house”, painted in black and white, stands out in the landscape. Algerian Senator Abdelouahab Benzaïm, who sees this site as a tribute to France, like many Internet users, calls for its destruction: “The local authorities must order the demolition of this symbol of loyalty to the colonizer. ”

For his part, Omar Ould Fella says he is not paying attention to this heated controversy. He plans to open his house to visitors, in order to encourage “mountain tourism”. In addition to his unique architecture, this Algerian entrepreneur has decided to integrate other references from around the world into his home. An alley of a hundred meters resembling the Great Wall of China and a basement in the style of the pyramids of Egypt were indeed designed at the request of the owner.
