Algerian President Abdelmajid Teboun ousted Finance Minister Abderahman Raouya today, just four months after his appointment, without elaborating on the reasons for his removal.
Mr Tebun “signed a decree on Tuesday dismissing Finance Minister Abderahman Raouya,” the Algerian presidency said in a statement.
The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Finance will take over as interim head.
Raugia, 61, was appointed finance minister in a mini-ministerial reshuffle made by Tempun on February 17th. Until then, the portfolio was held by Prime Minister Ayman Benabderahman. It was Raougia’s third term as Minister of Finance, having served as Minister of Finance from May 2017 to March 2019 and the period January-June 2020.
His ouster came less than a month after Central Bank Governor Rostom Fandley ousted Algerian President Temun.
