The Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei He said today that Iran does not trust US promises to lift sanctions and that Tehran will return to its commitments under its 2015 nuclear deal only if Washington fully suspends sanctions.
“We trusted America during his tenure (former President Barack Obama) and we kept our promises. But they do not. “The Americans said on paper that the sanctions would be lifted, but they practically did not lift them,” Khamenei said in a speech on state television.
“Their promises have no credibility for us,” he added.
