The popular marketplace AliExpress stopped accepting two payment methods popular among Russians at once – Google Pay and YuMoney.
As a reminder, YuMoney was previously called Yandex.Money, but with the final transfer under the wing of SberBank, they were renamed.
When trying to pay for a purchase, AliExpress users see a message:
Attention: Payment using Google Pay and Yandex.Money / YuMani is not available. Please choose another payment method. ”
The AliExpress Russia team reported on the official Telegram channel:
Dear friends, we would like to remind you that AliExpress Russia offers its customers several types of payment for purchases – both by bank cards and Internet wallets. Most of the purchases are paid by cards; alternative methods account for a few percent, depending on the region. The temporary limitation of payments via Internet wallets did not affect the company’s business, since their owners can switch the payment to a bank card. We will promptly restore the ability to pay with wallets as soon as the situation is resolved. “
A day earlier, on January 13, the YuMoney team announced that it had received an order from the Central Bank imposing restrictions on the operations of service customers with companies registered outside of Russia.
