All state capitals and the Federal District have already applied the first doses of the pediatric vaccine against Covid-19, aimed at children between 5 and 11 years of age, according to a survey carried out by the Ministry of Health. CNN Agency.
This Thursday (20), the cities of Palmas (TO) and Cuiabá (MT) started the campaign and completed the list at the national level.
On social networks, the capital of Tocantins published a video with the first child to be immunized, a 10-year-old girl. The first application was made in São Paulo (SP), on January 14th.
So far, the Pfizer vaccine is the only one released by the health authority to be applied in this age group. Anvisa evaluates this Thursday the feasibility of also releasing immunization with Coronavac.
The immunizer from the American pharmaceutical company received authorization from the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) on December 16 to be applied to children aged 5 to 11 years in Brazil.
However, the receipt and distribution of doses only took place after a public consultation demanded by the federal government and held on January 4th.
In all, Brazil should receive 4.3 million doses in January. For February, the expectation is that Pfizer will deliver another 7.2 million doses and, in March, another 8.4 million immunizers. The vaccination schedule for children consists of two doses with an interval of eight weeks.
