All electronics have risen in price. This is due to the shortage of semiconductors.

The global shortage of semiconductors has already affected various industries such as the automotive industry. Now, the scarcity has affected segments of consumer electronics, including personal computers, smartphones and even home appliances, driving prices up across all sectors.

These industries are already undergoing price adjustments since early 2021, according to ChinaDaily. Average shipping prices for laptops in China rose 6.1% in the first quarter of this year compared to the previous quarter. Liu Jun, president of Lenovo China, said at a financial briefing, “The PC industry is expected to see price increases throughout the year.”

IDC analyst Jitesh Ubrani added that “the market continues to struggle with setbacks, including component shortages and logistics problems, each of which have contributed to higher average selling prices.” Prices for some laptop models, such as the Huawei MateBook line, have risen by about $ 50-100. The prices of Acer, Asus and Lenovo laptops have also been raised.

More than 30 semiconductor companies raised prices by 10-30% in the second quarter, according to published data. Ryan Reith, vice president of the IDC program, said that “the continuing shortage in the semiconductor area only increases the ability of suppliers to restock and fulfill customer orders.”

Despite the deficit, global semiconductor revenues rose to $ 464 billion last year.
