All iPhone 13 models will have more in common than their predecessors. They’ll get a laser rangefinder

Apple is expected to use the laser rangefinder in all iPhone 13 models due this fall, not just the Pro and Pro Max models. This is reported by DigiTimes, citing sources from the supply chain.

Apple first installed the laser rangefinder in the iPad Pro, which was released last spring. Later, a small sensor appeared in the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, it is used to accurately determine the depth of the scene and the distance to people and objects (up to 5 meters from the camera). This technology provides advanced augmented reality and other unique capabilities such as the ability to instantly measure a person’s height.

Apple often introduces new features and capabilities on higher-end devices before redirecting them to more affordable devices in subsequent years. For example, OLED displays were used in the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, while the standard iPhone 11 has an LCD display. In this case, the entire line of iPhone 12 is equipped with OLED displays.

The new lineup is expected to include four models, including the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max.
