All-new Hyundai Tucson PHEV travels more electrically than expected

The all-new Hyundai Tucson PHEV 2022 crossover has been tested by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The range has also been confirmed in all-electric and mixed modes. The results were even better than expected at the time of the car’s announcement.

A battery with a capacity of 13.8 kWh is enough to travel up to 53 km in all-electric mode, while the range from 45 to 50 km was previously called. Interestingly, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson PHEV showed a greater range than the Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV equipped with the same lithium-ion battery. EPA tests have confirmed that the Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV can travel up to 50 km in electric mode.

The power consumption in EV mode is quite high at 262 Wh / km. The total range of the Hyundai Tucson PHEV 2022 with a full tank and a charged battery will be 676 km (EPA).

At the beginning of the month, an affordable version of the hybrid Hyundai Tucson appeared in Europe, which is equipped with a manual gearbox.
