On the platform, which banned the tycoon’s personal profile after the Capitol Hill events, the account @Potus (which stands for President of the United States) is now officially in the hands of the forty-sixth president.

Twitter, in fact, has decided to reset the number of followers of the presidential account: if Trump – who has always personally managed only his personal account on the platform – has inherited Obama’s followers, Biden did not inherit those of Trump, 33 million people.
A decision that – obviously – was criticized by those in charge of the communication of the new president, but Twitter was categorical: “These institutional accounts will not automatically keep the followers of the previous administration.” Is written in a post relating to the handover of all accounts to the new White House number one: in addition to the president, First Lady Jill Biden who will take the account @Flotus first run by Melania Trump, and Vice President Kamala Harris who is now traditionally on Twitter @VP.

@Potus, @Flotus @VP and @SecondGentleman, the names of the Twitter accounts, remain the same on Instagram and Facebook too, where, however, in terms of followers nothing will change: Menlo Park has made no changes.
