Who said that summer is the only season in which you can enjoy live events and festivals? Although slightly fewer in number, they are no less engaging and special. Indeed, often they are held in unique locations that make the atmosphere even more special. Historic buildings, visual installations, international guests, mixes of various artistic universes, here are the festivals and live shows not to be missed this autumn – winter:
ROBOT, BOLOGNA – 12-14 OCTOBER
This is a true institution among electronic music festivals across Europe and, in fact, is now in its 14th edition. What makes it so special is the possibility of being able to dance and have fun with the most illustrious names in the world of electronics in some of the most particular locations in Bologna: from the post-industrial spaces of DUMBO and TPO, both two former railway depots, to the most beautiful historic buildings and palaces in Bologna, such as Palazzo Re Enzo, the Oratory of San Filippo Neri and the Teatro San Leonardo.
MONUMENTAL TOUR, GENOA – 20 OCTOBER
The Ligurian date is the only Italian chosen by the famous French DJ Michael Canitrot. The live show – which will be held in the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa – becomes an opportunity to celebrate art in all its forms. In fact, the DJ’s idea – also sponsored by the French National Commission for UNESCO – is to harmoniously blend electronic music, cultural heritage and digital art. Indeed, during the DJ’s performance, light effects and complex video mapping will be projected with the aim of enhancing the architecture of Palazzo Ducale and raising public awareness about the protection of its monuments.
MOVEMENT TORINO MUSIC FESTIVAL, TURIN – 27 – 31 OCTOBER
Self love the Kappa FuturFestivalyou can’t miss its autumnal “brother”: Movement Torino Music Festival. At the centre, obviously, electronic music and the best names in European clubbing: from Blessed Madonna to Massano. The locations chosen are those of the Audiodrome Live Club, Officine Grandi Riparazioni and the Switchboard Club. For those who, in addition to music, also love the visual arts, this is an event not to be missed because each performance will be enriched by projections and optical effects.
90 WONDERLAND, BOLOGNA – 28 OCTOBER
The 90s are a sort of catchphrase that keeps coming back: from music to fashion, through cinema and entertainment. This very special decade is celebrated at Matis in Bologna – one of the most historic nightclubs in Italy – which has decided to welcome its audience with the music that made the history of those yearsbut also with everything that made them iconic, such as TV series (the ancestors of TV series) or some historic TV programs (does anyone still remember Strangelove?)

A good part of the tickets are already sold out, but it couldn’t be otherwise a festival which, for over 20 years, has had the ambitious objective of exploring, telling and making people listen to all the evolutions of avant-pop music. If you are looking for new DJs or performers to discover this is the right place for you. The location is again Turin, in the Lingotto and Ogr spaces.

This seventh edition is entitled “vis viva” anticipating the theme around which the four evenings of this Roman festival will be built: the human dimension, analyzed from the point of view of sharing, bodies, movement and listening. As per tradition, the new frontiers of electronic music will be brought to the stage, however, also giving space to new artistic languages. The evenings will be held at Angelo Mai, at Monk and at Palazzo delle Esposizioni.
