For its responsible business action and its initiatives to promote sustainable environmental and social development, Alpha Bank was awarded at the Hellenic Responsible Business Awards 2022.
The Bank received 6 awards and was named “CSR Corporate Brand of the Year”, winning the institution’s top distinction. The Hellenic Responsible Business Awards are held under the auspices of the Ministry of Development and Investments, the Ministry of Environment and Energy and the BSE.
The Bank’s award as “CSR Corporate Brand of the Year” was accompanied by the awarding of distinctions for programs and initiatives of Responsible Banking, Equal Access, Digital Innovation and Women’s Empowerment.
Specifically, Alpha Bank received:
– 2 Gold awards in the categories “Responsible Product / Affinity Marketing / Cause-Related Marketing” and “Sustainable Cities & Communities” for the Consumer Loan “Alpha Green Solutions Electrokinesis”, which was specially formulated for the needs of the Greek Government’s program, ” e-Astypalea”. Alpha Bank, through this banking product, contributes to the effort to make Astypalea a model island in the field of green energy and smart and electric mobility throughout the Mediterranean, with a neutral climate footprint.
– Silver award in the “Enhancement of Entrepreneurship” category for the annual international innovation competition “FinQuest by Alpha Bank”, aimed at the domestic and international start-up ecosystem, looking for innovative digital solutions and applications that can transform the financial industry.
– Silver award in the category “ESG & SDGs: Life on Land” for the investment program “Investments with Environmental Impact”. The Bank, for the first time, introduced the concept of Impact Investments, through the investment products (Structured Notes) offered to Private Banking Clients, where for every Euro 1,000 nominal value of participation in Structured Notes, 1 tree is planted . Through this action, in 2021, Alpha Bank’s Customers financed the planting of 17,379 trees in the Arona forest of the Municipality of Katerini.
– Silver award in the “Gender Equality” category for the series of initiatives “Women Empowerment: We support Women in practice”. It is a series of important programs, policies and practices for women, which cover the whole life cycle and aim to empower them, to ensure equal access and equal opportunities for advancement, equal evaluation and reward and, of course, to balance between the personal and professional spheres .
– Bronze award in the “Less Inequalities” category for the Corporate Responsibility program “All together at the opera”, implemented by Alpha Bank in collaboration with the National Opera from December 2021, ensuring – for the first time – opera performances, which are universally accessible for all our fellow citizens. At the same time, people with or without disabilities have the opportunity to participate in the artistic workshops “Synthesis and Inclusion” and create their own musical theater performance. The Program also includes the “Aesthetics of Access” seminars, which enable teachers to include tools and methods of inclusion and accessibility in the planning, organization and implementation of educational and cultural activities.
