The LineageOS team, one of the most popular unofficial firmware for Android smartphones, has released Lineage 18.1 builds based on the Android 11 operating system for a new batch of smartphones.
In early April, Lineage 18.1 was released for 6 dozen smartphone models, then OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T Pro, Redmi Note 5 Pro and Moto X (2014) joined them, and now seven-year-old Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (review) and Galaxy S5 (review), six-year-old LG G3 (review), and Xiaomi Mi A2 (review).
Note that we are talking about official Lineage 18.1 firmwares, and not assemblies made by one or two enthusiasts. Before installing Lineage 18.1, it is recommended to make sure that you have up-to-date backups and carefully read the instructions.
In addition to the standard Android 11 innovations, the Lineage 18.1 shell brings additional new features, including the built-in open source SeedValut backup solution, redesigned voice recorder and music apps, dark theme support for all LineageOS apps, and so on.
