Amanda Seyfried denies regret for giving up “Guardians of the Galaxy”

The actress Amanda Seyfried 39, maintains its decision to have refused the role of Gamora in Marvel’s successful franchise “Guardians of the Galaxy” .

The star spoke about her decision process in the episode of Wednesday (19) of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, saying that “received the offer” and even “thought about it for a few days.”

“I didn’t want to live in London for six months of the year for any reason,” she said. “There was another movie I really wanted to do with Seth MacFarlane called ‘a million ways to get the pistol.’ It looked like a really good opportunity.”

The newly preferable Oscar, Zoe Saldaña, ended up playing Gamora, the all-green heroine of the “Guardian” franchise. Saldaña appeared in all three films of the “Guardians”, as well as “Avengers: Infinite War” (2018) and “Avengers: Ultimato” (2019).

Amanda Seyfried had concerns about “being part of a Marvel movie that would fail,” describing the scenario as “not good for his career.”

“I thought that being about a talking tree and a talking raccoon, it would be Marvel’s first failure, and that Chris Pratt and I would never work again,” she said. “Well, I was wrong.”

And how wrong it was. The three guardians’ films were enormously successful, raising more than $ 2 billion globally between 2014 and 2023 at the box office.

“I was in a precarious time in my career and didn’t want to suffer for work,” she said. “I just didn’t want to do that because I had done some things with green screen and it wasn’t my beach.”

She continued, “I don’t regret anything, any decision I made. I did it for myself. The moment I made the decision, it was good for me at the time and it’s good for me now.”
