Amazing! The best photographs of the ‘blood moon’ during the 2022 lunar eclipse

The longest partial lunar eclipse in nearly 600 years took place around 10 p.m. on May 15 and early on May 16. During this phenomenon, the alignment between the Earth and the Sun gives us a “blood moon”, as the latter adopts a reddish color.

This great spectacle captivated millions of people around the world, since it could be seen in a large part of the countries of South America, Central America and part of North America, as well as in Africa, southern and western Europe, and Asia. The astronomical event could be seen with the naked eye, so there was no need to use any instrument or telescope.

Nature gives us this incredible spectacle when the Earth stands between the Sun and the Moon. As the three objects line up, they cause a shadow to be cast that darkens the satellite, but the reddish color is created by sunlight filtering through Earth’s atmosphere.

Millions of people in the world went out to look at the sky to enjoy the astronomical phenomenon, so they could not help but take a picture and fill social networks with endless red moons that the first total lunar eclipse of 2022 gave us.
