Amazon launches Amazon Fresh and challenges supermarkets

Amazon has launched its Amazon Fresh service fast home delivery of supermarket products, which aims to compete with supermarkets, and which joins the Dia supermarket store, launched at the beginning of the year, according to the electronic commerce giant.

Specifically, the multinational has indicated that Its goal is to serve millions of Amazon Prime customers throughout Spain throughout 2021. Thus, ‘prime’ consumers in Madrid and its surroundings can enjoy this new fast home delivery service from today. They can make their purchase from more than 10,000 items, including fresh and frozen products, meat, fish, fruits and vegetables, dairy products, snacks, essential items, as well as beauty and personal care products, toys and stationery.

All these products available with delivery the same day, will be distributed in strips of two hours and without shipping cost for orders over 50 euros. Also, ‘prime’ customers will be able to make the purchase in the Dia store, where they can find more than 7,000 articles of their brand, as well as local products and big brands.

The director of Amazon Fresh in Spain, France and Italy, Camille Bur, has welcomed this launch. “We are very pleased to expand our express delivery service for food, beauty and personal care products, as well as other categories with the launch of Amazon Fresh,” he said.
