The Amazonas Security Forces, together with bodies that are part of the Child and Adolescent Protection Network, carried out Operation Hagnos during the month of November. The work resulted in the arrest of 92 people.
Focused on combating sexual exploitation, more than 1,500 victims were assisted, with more than 20 children and adolescents in situations of sexual exploitation being rescued.
In addition to the seizures, during the 29 days of operation, preventive, educational and combat actions against crimes of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents were also carried out. The activities carried out focused on motels and irregular inns and at traffic lights on the capital’s main avenues.
The delegate specializing in Child and Adolescent Protection, Juliana Tuma, spoke about the significant numbers achieved in the capital and in the interior of the state.
Tuma highlighted the carrying out of 12 arrests in the act and the execution of 22 arrest warrants. Juliana also highlighted that “the closure of Operation Hagnos does not mean the end of the fight against child violence, but rather a milestone in the responsibility for the full protection of children and adolescents.”
