Amazonas has no deaths from Covid-19, reports bulletin

The Amazon did not record any deaths by Covid-19 in 24 hours, according to data from the Foundation for Health Surveillance of Amazonas Dr. Rosemary Costa Pinto, linked to the State Department of Health of Amazonas (Susam), released this Saturday (20).

According to the foundation, the last death registered in the state occurred on Friday (19), in Manaus. The bulletin also adds that 1,024 people diagnosed with Covid-19 are being monitored by the municipal health departments, which corresponds to 0.24% of active confirmed cases.

The lack of confirmed deaths does not necessarily mean that there were no deaths in the state this Saturday, as the investigation of cases and deaths usually suffers impoundment on weekends.

The bulletin also adds that 1,024 people diagnosed with Covid-19 are being monitored by the municipal health departments, which corresponds to 0.24% of active confirmed cases.

Altogether, the Amazon accumulates 13,791 deaths from the disease. The state was one of the epicenters of Covid-19 in early 2021.
