Amber Group closes $200 million funding round

One of the leading global platforms for trading crypto assets Amber Group held a funding round, during which it raised $200 million. After that, the company’s capitalization reached $3 billion.

Amber Group informed on the closing of a funding round led by Singapore-based Temasek Holdings. Tru Arrow Partners, Pantera Capital, Sequoia China and others also took part in the round. Thanks to the funds received, the capitalization of Amber Group tripled compared to June last year and reached $3 billion.

The company specializes in helping institutional and commercial investors in the cryptocurrency market. The collected funds will be used to attract “key” employees to support institutional business in Europe and America, as well as to develop the Amber WhaleFin mobile cryptocurrency platform.

Recall that earlier Amber Group acquired the DeCurret cryptocurrency exchange, which has a license from the Japan Financial Services Agency (FSA). This allowed the company to enter the cryptocurrency market in Japan.
