AMC Entertainment and Sony Pictures to present 86,000 Spider-Man NFTs to viewers

American movie theater chain AMC Entertainment is partnering with Sony Pictures to present 86,000 Spider-Man NFTs to its first Spider-Man: No Way Home ticket purchasers.

AMC Entertainment
launched non-fungible token creation (NFT) project. They will be given out to viewers as a reward for pre-booking tickets for the film, which began on November 29th. NFT is developed by the Cub Studios animation studio, which has created about 100 designs for 86,000 collectible tokens dedicated to Spider-Man. They will operate on the WAX blockchain.

The NFT will only be available to users of the AMC Investor Connect platform for company news and special offers, as well as to AMC Stubs Premiere or A-List members. In addition, AMC Investor Connect members must complete a special program through which moviegoers can access the points system for $ 15 per year. Users can exchange earned points for exclusive benefits and prizes. On December 22nd, users who are due to receive the NFT will receive an email notification with further instructions.

“The pandemic is exacerbating the challenges facing the film industry. Therefore, it is necessary to launch loyalty programs that will motivate people to watch movies. Viewers and shareholders have given us the idea to enter the world of NFT long ago. We found it best to do this with partners from Sony Pictures, ”said AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron.

In August, AMC Entertainment announced that it would begin accepting bitcoin to pay for tickets by the end of the year, and in September the cinema network added DOGE, ETH, LTC and BCH to the list of planned cryptocurrencies.
