AMD told the source that the AMD 4700S kit served as the basis for eight dozen desktop PCs that will begin hitting the market on June 24. Actually, the first models, apparently, are already available for sale, thanks to which it became known about the set.
Recall that the AMD 4700S kit includes a motherboard, a processor with a cooling system and memory. Information about it began to appear long before AMD published a detailed description on its website. Interestingly, the release of the kit did without the usual press release in such cases.

It is noteworthy that the manufacturer does not use the Ryzen brand in relation to the processor included in the kit. Most likely this is the processor for the Sony PlayStation 5, known as the Ariel, with the GPU disabled. At the same time, the source suggests that the AMD 4700S processor may be a close relative of Ariel, but with different IP blocks, such as memory controllers, interrupt handlers, system controllers and video decoders.
When asked directly if the AMD 4700S kit is built on SoC for PS5, the manufacturer replied that “the AMD 4700S desktop kit is its own unique solution, designed to meet the need for reliable performance with a large number of cores in the mainstream segment, ideal for multitasking, productivity and lightweight three-dimensional workflows ”. This answer doesn’t really clarify much as it relates to the kit and not the processor itself.
The first AMD 4700S-based systems seen in the market range from $ 320 to $ 700, with a wide variety of SSDs, PSUs, chassis and other components.
