AMD has smashed Intel’s latest 3D accelerator. The simplest Radeon RX 6500M beats the Intel Arc A370M in five games by a decent margin

Intel has finally officially introduced its Arc series 3D cards, but so far only for laptops and without much specifics regarding performance: the official slides show a comparison with integrated graphics in Intel processors, but it’s clear that a discrete solution will be faster. And what is the performance of Arc A370M relative to Nvidia and AMD counterparts? There is no data on the comparison with Nvidia yet, but AMD has published a slide comparison of its budget model Radeon RX 6500M with Intel Arc A370M. And here, alas, everything is not in favor of Intel.

AMD has smashed Intel’s latest 3D accelerator. The simplest Radeon RX 6500M beats the Intel Arc A370M in five games by a decent margin

We should start with the fact that the Radeon RX 6500M and Arc A370M are as close as possible in terms of characteristics. Both have 1024 cores each, both are manufactured by TSMC on a 6nm process technology, both have 4 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 64-bit bus. And even the TDP values \u200b\u200bare the same here – 35-50 watts. But what about performance?

AMD has smashed Intel's latest 3D accelerator. The simplest Radeon RX 6500M beats the Intel Arc A370M in five games by a decent margin

As you can see, in five games, the Arc A370M is inferior to the Radeon RX 6500M, and in the same F1 2021 – more than twice. It is clear that AMD for comparison chose games that are convenient for themselves – better adapted for AMD GPUs, but this data cannot be discounted.

After the release of laptops with Arc A370M, detailed independent tests will appear that will dot the i’s. But in the meantime, we can say that even with the base models of Nvidia and AMD in the face of the GeForce RTX 2050 and Radeon RX 6500M, the new Intel product will be difficult to compete.
