We have already written that AMD is preparing Instinct MI200 graphics accelerators, and now more details about them have appeared on the Web. The lineup is expected to include two models – Instinct MI250 and MI250X, both based on the CDNA2 architecture. And the characteristics of the older one look very impressive.

According to an insider, MI250X will receive 110 computing units, the cores of which will operate at a frequency of up to 1.7 GHz. The GPU will be 7nm. The video card will receive 128 GB of HBM2e memory, and its TDP will be 500 watts. Performance on single and double precision operations will be 47.9 TFLOPS. There are no details about the Instinct MI250, but it will be similar to the MI250X.
Enough teasing. MI200 has two variants: MI250 and MI250X

There is no information yet about when these graphic accelerators will debut, but the premiere is likely to take place next year. New items will compete with similar solutions from Intel (Ponte Vecchio Xe-HPC) and Nvidia (Nvidia H100).
