AMD Prepares Radeon RX 6950XT, RX 6850 XT, and RX 6750 XT Graphics Cards with Faster Memory

There are more and more rumors on the Web about the release of upgraded AMD video cards of the current line. This will not be a full answer to the GeForce RTX 40, but the “red” 3D accelerators will add about 2-5% performance due to the new faster memory.

AMD Prepares Radeon RX 6950XT, RX 6850 XT, and RX 6750 XT Graphics Cards with Faster Memory

The current Navi 21 and Navi 22 GPUs that power the Radeon RX 6900 XT, RX 6800 XT, RX 6800, and RX 6700 XT are equipped with 16 GHz memory. Meanwhile, the new budget AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT received 18 GHz memory. And this gap, when the budget model has a faster memory than the top one, AMD, according to rumors, is going to close it: the updated models on Navi 21 and Navi 22 will receive 18 GHz memory.

Rumor has it that the new models will be labeled the same as the updated models of the mobile line: similar to how the Radeon RX 6800M became the RX 6850M, the new memory Radeon RX 6900 XT will be called RX 6950 XT, RX 6800 XT – RX 6850 XT, RX 6800 – RX 6850, RX 6700 XT – RX 6750 XT. It is believed that in this way AMD will slightly strengthen its line before the release of Intel Arc Alchemist video cards. Updated Radeon should debut in the second quarter, that is, they will be released exactly no later than June.

Earlier there were rumors that AMD will transfer to the 6-nanometer GPU process Radeon RX 6600 XT and Radeon RX 6700 XT, but so far there is no evidence that the top models, along with faster memory, will receive GPUs on a thinner process technology. At the same time, with the new faster memory, power consumption parameters will change somewhat (it should increase slightly) and prices will rise slightly.
