AMD, according to new rumors, may release unusual affordable processors to the market.
We are talking about the Renoir-X line based on the Zen 2 architecture. More precisely, the company is going to take the Ryzen 4000G desktop APUs, disable their GPUs and sell them at reduced prices. There is already a leak about the Ryzen 3 4100 and Ryzen 5 4500 models. The first should have four cores, and the second has six. At the same time, representatives from Ryzen 7 will not appear in this form.
Ryzen 4000G are in fact Ryzen 4000U mobile APUs, only with an increased TPD. They are based on the same monolithic crystal and have the same characteristics, except for frequencies. That is, initially AMD adapted mobile processors for the desktop segment, and now they are preparing to turn off the GPU for them in order to offer them cheaper.
Why the company did not choose the Ryzen 5000G for this is unclear, but perhaps due to the shortage of such processors and the desire to make the final product as cheap as possible.
