Ame, the financial platform of Americanas S/A, started to offer the contracting of life insurance with a monthly fee from R$5.
The company already has simpler types of insurance such as residential, cell phone and portable devices, for pets and dental.
Ame reached its balance between income and expenses in November 2021 and is one of the strategic areas of Americanas S/A to ensure more sources of revenue for the business, as well as make the customer access more of the platform.
The new product, made in partnership with Pulso Seguros and MetLife, includes coverage for death, disability due to accident, funeral assistance, per diem for hospitalization and funeral assistance for beneficiaries, whether children, parents, in-laws or spouses.
The insurance can be taken out by people from 18 to 60 years old, with age review after five years. The coverage amount can reach R$ 200 thousand in case of death or disability. And the insured competes for a monthly drawing of R$ 10 thousand.
In the last conference call with investors, analysts questioned whether the end of the loss phase of Ame, in November, was punctual or if the business front should evolve in profitability. Ame CEO Anna Saicali responded that the team was happy with the brand and wants to keep evolving.
