Corbucci came in sixth place, after eating 43 hot dogs. First place went to Patrick Bertoletti, with 58 hot dogs. Completing the podium were Geoffrey Esper, with 53, and James Webb, with 52.

Multi-champion did not compete

Sixteen-time tournament champion Joey Chestnut was not competing this year after he struck a deal with plant-based food company Impossible Foods.

He broke the world record of eating 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes in 2021.

Still, Chestnut, 40, will compete in his own exhibition event, taking on four U.S. Army soldiers at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, in an “all-beef” hot dog eating contest.

The contest is expected to raise money for military families and will last five minutes.

Women’s champion breaks record

Miki Sudo, the reigning champion of the Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest, broke the women’s record by eating 51 hot dogs and buns.

She defeated second-place finisher Mayoi Ebihara by 14 hot dogs and buns, securing her 10th title in the competition.

“We finally won 50, guys,” Sudo told ESPN after his historic performance. “See you next year,” he added.
