American magazine classifies “Motel Destino” as “Cannes’ sexiest film”

The North American magazine Vanity Fair classified the Brazilian film “Motel Destino” as “the sexiest film in Cannes” . The title had its first screening at the 77th edition of the film festival on Wednesday (23). The production participates in the official competition exhibition and competes for the Palme d'Or.

“The sexiest film at Cannes, 'Motel Destino', also seeks to be the most political”, says the title of the report.

The magazine spoke with the director Karim Aïnouz who responded to the statement: “That’s good to know, because we need it.”

The Brazilian filmmaker's new film is an erotic thriller, where the location on a roadside on the coast of Ceará that gives the film its name is the stage for dangerous games of desire, power and violence. One night, the arrival of young Heraldo definitively transforms the motel's daily life.
