The production will adapt the 1991 book of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis. The story has already been told in theaters before, in 2000, with Christian Bale (“The Big Trick” and “Batman: The Dark Knight”) as the protagonist.

Set in New York in the 1980s, the plot follows the ambitious, successful and attractive Patrick Bateman, who hides his true face while living a luxurious and contradictory life.

Further details about the cast and the start of filming have not yet been revealed. Currently, Guadagnino is preparing to launch with “Queer“ with Daniel Craig and Joseph Quinn, and records “After The Hunt“ which features Andrew Garfield, Ayo Edebiri and Julia Roberts in the cast.
