Talking to CNN News on Sunday, American senator Ron Johnson said: “I think we have enough (votes) to stop the process until the president took the reduction of spending and the decrease in deficit.”
“My main approach is now spending. This is completely unacceptable. Current projections are a deficit of 2.2 billion dollars per year,” he said.
Johnson added: “There should be a goal of this Republican Senate to reduce the deficit, not increase it. We are increasing it.”
The broad tax cuts bill of US President Donald Trump was approved in the lower house last week and will vote in the Senate this week.
