The ship entered the waters of the Black Sea on April 27. The next day, he conducted exercises with the Turkish frigate Yavuz, and in early May with Georgian Island-class boats. On May 9, the American ship held an exercise in Ukraine, and after that it moored in the waters of the Odessa port.

The Hamilton-class Coast Guard ships were designed during the Cold War and were originally designed to combat submarines. They are 115 meters long, armed with 76 mm OTO Melara cannons, two Mk38 25 mm, Phalanx CIWS 20 mm and six 50 caliber machine guns.These vessels are capable of receiving MH-65 helicopters, they are versatile, and can carry out a variety of operations, including defense, law enforcement, search and rescue and research.
