Americanas informed this Monday (23) that it says it hired Alvarez & Marsal to help coordinate the retailer’s judicial recovery process.
In a material fact, Americanas stated that Alvarez & Marsal “will act in coordination with Rothschild & Co as the company’s interlocutor in the renegotiation of the financial debt”.
The company filed for bankruptcy last week, with a debt of R$43 billion, after detecting “accounting inconsistencies” of R$20 billion earlier this month.
A&M will act in coordination with Rothschild & Co, the company’s interlocutor in the renegotiation of the financial debt. The objective is to ensure that the executive team has all the support and reference tools in the market to achieve the strategic objectives of the business.
According to the document, “the Company will keep its shareholders and the market in general updated on the matters covered by this Material Fact”.
