A recent SellCell poll shows that Apple brand loyalty has hit an all-time high, surpassing Samsung in sales for the first time in four years. Users who participated in the study praised the iPhone lineup for the quality and long-term support for older versions through operating system updates. 10% of 5,000 Americans surveyed said the transition to Android is too problematic. However, there are those who are willing to ditch the iPhone in favor of Android devices. And that’s why.
Former owners of Apple devices cited three main reasons that prompted them to switch to Android: a quality screen, a better camera, and a powerful battery. Users also noted that they prefer variety in design and the ability to independently customize the operating system. All this is just provided in smartphones based on Android.
In terms of brands, 50% of former Apple users choose Samsung and 30% choose Google Pixel. At the same time, it should be noted that user loyalty to the South Korean brand fell from 85.7% to 74%, and to the Google Pixel line – it decreased by 18.8%.
During the survey, SellCell specialists also asked the participants to choose their favorite smartphone. In the list of the most popular mobile devices, the places are divided as follows:
- iPhone 12 — 17%;
- Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max — 12,7%;
- Samsung Galaxy S21— 11,4%;
- Apple iPhone 12 Pro —10,6%;
- Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra — 10%;
- Samsung Galaxy S21 — 9%;
- Google Pixel 5 — 8,1%;
- Apple iPhone 12 Mini — 6,3%;
- Other – 5%;

The study was conducted from March 3 to March 10, 2021 through an online survey. More than 5,000 smartphone users in the United States participated in the test, including 2,000 iPhone users, 2,000 Samsung users, 400 Google Pixel users, and 600 Motorola or LG users.
