The national president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, invited the former minister of Agriculture Tereza Cristina to a meeting. The information was confirmed to CNN in a reserved character, by congressmen of the legend.
The expectation in the party is that it will take place this Wednesday (15), with the possible presence of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ).
The nod comes at a time when President Jair Bolsonaro’s campaign is analyzing scenarios for the re-election ticket to the Planalto Palace.
The president’s favorite name for the post is retired general Walter Braga Netto.
The president, however, does not rule out the possibility of choosing another name if the political scenario proves unfavorable.
The name of the former minister is defended in the central block as a way for Bolsonaro to soften his image with the female electorate.
In addition, Tereza has the support of the parliamentary agribusiness front, considered one of the pillars of support of the current administration.
The former minister has resisted, however, the alternative and has shown a preference for a candidacy for the Senate by Mato Grosso do Sul.
