Amnesty International today denounced the US authorities, arguing that they are violating human rights through the use of artificial intelligence for mass monitoring of immigrants and foreign students who express support for Palestinians amid protests against the Gaza War. “It is deeply alarming that the US government is developing (…) technologies based on TN in the context of mass expulsion and suppression of expression in favor of Palestine,” said Erika Guevara-Inhava, head of the Department of Research at the International Amnesty International. The use of such technologies leads to a “multitude of human rights violations”, he added.
