Amnesty International Iran: Deliberately used lethal means to quell Mahsha Amini protests

The Iran deliberately used lethal means to suppress the protests that broke out in the country after the death of Mahsha Amini, she complained international Amnesty today, considering that without international action more people are at risk of being killed or be arrested.

This warning came as another non-governmental organization, Oslo-based Iran Human Rights, announced that after almost two weeks of protests in Iran 83 people have been killed.

“Iranian authorities have mobilized the repression apparatus to relentlessly suppress demonstrations across the country with the aim of preventing any challenge to their authority,” Amnesty International complained.

“If the international community does not take concerted action, stronger than a simple statement of condemnation, countless more people are at risk of being killed, maimed, tortured, sexually assaulted and behind barsadded the organization.

Amnesty International noted that it has reviewed photos and videos showing that “most victims were killed by security forces who fired live bullets».

The NGO announced, according to APE-MPE, that it had received an official document, which was leaked, which ordered on September 21st officers of the armed forces of the provinces to “violently oppose” the protesters.

In another document dated September 23, the commander of the armed forces of Mazandaran province – where some of the bloodiest clashes have taken place – ordered security forces “to deal mercilessly, even to the point of causing death, any demonstration of unrest”.

Amnesty International said it has confirmed the death of 52 people during the protests, noting that the true toll may be higher.
