Huami today officially unveiled three new models of Amazfit smartwatches – GTR 3, GTR 3 Pro and GTS 3. In this news – about the top models GTR 3 and GTR 3 Pro, equipped with round screens.
Amazfit GTR 3 Pro is made of aircraft-grade aluminum and weighs only 32 grams. The device is available in two versions: Brown Leather (light gray case and brown strap) and Infinite Black (dark gray case and black fluoroelastomer strap). The GTR 3 also has two color options: Thunder Black and Moonlight Gray (light gray).
GTR 3 Pro received a 1.45-inch AMOLED screen with a pixel density of 331 per inch and a peak brightness of 1000 cd / m2, as well as an increased (compared to the previous generation model) frame rate by 67%. The screen occupies 70.6% of the front panel area of the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro. The Amazfit GTR 3 has a slightly smaller screen – its diameter is 1.39 inches. The pixel density corresponds to the older model, but the ratio of the screen area to the front panel is slightly less – the display accounts for 66%.
Amazfit GTR 3 Pro has more than 150 themes (GTR 3 has more than 100) and Always On mode. 15 themes – animated, and some can even be edited – choose which widgets will be displayed on the screen. More than 150 training modes are also supported.
Together with the watch, Amazfit presented a new software platform on which it is built. It is called Zepp OS and has a very simple interface. Zepp OS doesn’t have as many features as Google Wear OS, but the platform does support third-party apps. Moreover, the company has prepared a set of tools for the development of themes and even applications based on a web-engine, so that almost anyone, armed with proprietary instructions, can create something of their own for the watch, and then share this creation with other users. The watch works with the voice assistant Amazon Alexa (and this does not require a network connection), is compatible with Apple Health and Google Fit, as well as a number of popular applications – Strava, Relive, RunKeeper, etc.
A special feature of the new products is the new six-channel optical sensor BioTracker PPG of the third generation, working together with the second generation RealBeats algorithm. Amazfit GTR 3 Pro and GTR 3 monitor heart rate and blood oxygenation 24/7. The developers focus on the fact that it takes only 15 seconds to determine SpO2 – almost half the time required for a second generation watch. There’s also a sleep monitoring system that can even track your breathing rate.
The new items are protected from water, but the 5ATM marking indicates that, although you can swim with them in the pool, it is undesirable to dive with them. Both models are equipped with GPS receivers, with the Pro version supporting five systems: GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, Beidou and QZSS. Due to this, the positioning accuracy has increased by 40%.
The Amazfit GTR 3 Pro has a microphone and a built-in loudspeaker, which allows you to answer calls directly without a smartphone. The internal memory of the device provides 2.3 GB for storing music. This is not the case in GTR 3.
The maximum autonomy of the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro is 12 days. Or 35 hours using GPS. Power saving mode Battery Saver Mode allows you to extend the autonomy up to a month. The autonomy of the Amazfit GTR 3 is much longer – up to 21 days (10 days with intensive use).
Amazfit GTR 3 Pro is priced at 230 dollars or 200 euros (depending on the country). The GTR 3 is cheaper at $ 180 or € 150. Sales start in the US, UK, Italy, Spain, France and China.
