News Seek in collaboration with Statesman has published the ranking of the best hospitals in the world. The World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2025 it is divided precisely by specialty of the institutions and sees in the first places, without too many surprises, mostly American institutions with some exceptions for some Germans, Canadians or South Koreans. But the dominance of the USA in the sector is impressive, at least according to the parameters taken into consideration.
The Italian hospitalsin any case, they do well. Especially in some specialties. For pediatrics, for example, the Baby Jesus of Rome ranks sixth globally and also receives recognition from patients, the Gaslini comes in 29th place, theVittore Buzzi Children’s Hospital – ASST Fatebenefratelli Sacco at 46th and – reporting only the Italian occurrences in the first 50 places – theAST Pesaro Urbino Territorial Health Authority at the 49th.
For cardiology, where the Mayo Clinic in Rochester dominates, the 11th position is occupied by Monzino Cardiology Center of Milan and the Saint Raphael (22nd). At the 40th there is the Twins of Rome. For neurosurgery, however, the first Italian institute is the IRCCS Foundation Carlo Besta Neurological Institute from Milan (17th position), the only presence in the top 50.
Oncology, IEO in ninth place in the world
Coming instead to the hospitals specialized in oncology, which in the first places sees the MD Anderson Cancer Center of Houston and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center of New York, the Italians arrive in ninth place with the Ieo, theEuropean Institute of Oncology of Milan, at the 24th with theNational Cancer Institute still in Milan (24th), the Gemelli Polyclinic of Rome (27th), theHumanitas Clinical Institute of Rozzano at the 43rd, the Niguarda always in Milan at the 45th and theNational Cancer Institute of Naples – G.
