An 82-year-old supermarket worker retired thanks to TikTok

An 82-year-old employee found the opportunity to retire Super Market due to a video that went viral on TikTok.

It was all thanks to the Bug Boys channel, which has more than 279K followers and 5.7 million likes, which is an extermination business but also has a social action, as peritrana proves. Last December, Rory McCarty posted the video of the elderly cashier of the Walmart chain, who despite being 82 years old could not yet retire. McCarty had seen similar videos of people trying to help elderly people and said to do the same.

Warren Marion’s case, however, is something else since it went viral and now the original video alone has more than 3.3 million views. So he set up a GoFundMe page to raise money with the help of the public, who responded in kind.

The campaign was completed as within a few days they raised a large amount, approximately over $100,000. The 82-year-old war veteran stopped working last week, with his former colleagues applauding him in the parking lot.

The local media of course captured the moment, with Mr Marion in disbelief when he received his life-changing cheque. All he wanted was to be able to pay off his house and travel to Florida to see his children.
