The German company Electric Brands has presented a modular electric car Xbus, which in its appearance is very similar to our UAZ “Bukhanka”. True, this is only outwardly, but in technical terms, there is an abyss between them.

Xbus, this is the name of the novelty, is a full-fledged electric car capable of traveling up to 600 km on a single charge. True, this is only in the top version, and with a basic 10 kWh battery, it can travel up to 200 km. Interestingly, the Xbus is not a car – it belongs to the ATV category (L7e category). For such vehicles, less stringent safety standards apply, but the payload is also limited – 450 kg for passenger versions and 600 kg for freight. The Xbus is equipped with motor wheels and therefore is an all-wheel drive vehicle. Constant power is not great – only 20 hp, but the peak reaches a pretty decent 75 hp. The maximum speed is also at the level – 100 km / h.

Xbus is smaller than “Loaf”. Its dimensions are 3945, 1633 and 1963 mm, and the wheelbase is 2200 mm, but many SUVs will envy the ground clearance, it is 200 mm.

The Xbus will be assembled in Germany at the Itzehoe plant in Schleswig-Holstein, and even the local battery supplier Universal. Interestingly, the battery is removable, and you do not have to go to the dealer to replace it – you can do it yourself, unless it takes two people. Initially, Electric Brands will have 600 dealers in Europe, but plans to increase their number to 1000 in the future.
The developer has already launched the configurator on its website, the cheapest Xbus variant is priced at 17,380 euros, which is about $ 20,500. Sales will start in the middle of next year. Since the Xbus is a modular solution, it will be presented in a number of options – from a bus to a pickup with drop sides and even a camper (with a refrigerator, sink, hob and TV).
